How it Works
At PRESSED JUICERY, we have created a comprehensive cleansing program designed to work with your everyday life. You will receive a daily supply of eight, 16 fl. oz. beverages straight to your doorstep each morning. Our juices are produced on a hydraulic press which extracts straight from the pulp, minimizing the changes that juices undergo during typical juicing processes, and releasing essential vitamins and minerals into each beverage.
Once you receive your cleanse package, you will find each beverage clearly labeled in order from one to six, whereby you drink the first one (1) when your beverages arrive and the last one (6) at least two hours before you go to bed. We find that customers feel best when they consume their beverages approximately two hours apart.
Also included in each cleanse are two extra drinks: chlorophyll with apple extract and aloe vera drink. Chlorophyll with apple extract has a mild flavor, and we suggest you drink it throughout the day, in between your beverages, as added hydration. Aloe vera drink should be taken as the last drink of the day, after almond milk. The aloe vera drink is a colon cleanser that aids in the elimination and detoxification process with its high water content.
Each beverage is designed to replace solid foods and snacks, and subsequently it is important to avoid alcohol, energy drinks, caffeine, and nicotine while you are on the cleanse programs. Please continue reading to learn more about our suggestions for maximizing the benefits of your detox before, during, and after the program.
Assuming you follow our guidelines and make sure you give yourself ample rest and hydration, the PRESSED JUICERY cleansing program will give your digestive system the break it needs to regenerate while simultaneously feeding your body. For a list of potential benefits please read WHY CLEANSE?
before
If there is one thing you must know before you start your cleanse, it's that preparation is essential. In order to yield the detoxifying results that our program is designed to give you, you will need to wean yourself off of some of your usual indulgences a few days prior to your first day of cleansing. Don’t worry, it’s not going to be scary, and you'll thank yourself later. Preparing your body will affect how you feel and respond during your cleanse, and we want you to feel your very best. After all, isn't that the point?
We all deserve a break once in a while. Think of your pre-cleanse meal plan as your way of getting your body in great shape before packing for your vacation.
HYDRATION
This is the first important stage of preparation. Most of us suffer from some degree of dehydration in our everyday lives. Ever experience dry mouth, dry skin, and occasional irregularity? Our cleanse will help you rehydrate and feel rejuvenated. Here are some tips we recommend incorporating into your daily schedule 3 days before your cleanse:
- begin each morning with a cup of herbal tea or warm water with lemon.
- drink a minimum of two liters of filtered water per day.
- eliminate caffeinated and diuretic drinks such as coffee, tea, alcohol and soda. If you happen to have one, don’t freak—just drink an extra glass of water per drink.
- supplement your diet with fatty acids. we recommend soaking flaxseeds overnight and eating two tablespoons of them per day mixed into foods or even on their own.
NUTRITION
In the 3 days before you begin your cleanse, we recommend that you stick with pre-cleanse meal plan that contains wholesome foods.
We suggest you avoid:
- meat and poultry
- refined starches like bread, white rice and pasta
- dairy and egg products
- sugar
- alcohol and nicotine
- sushi
Three days before your cleanse you may have fish if total elimination of meat is too extreme for your diet. Two days before your cleanse, you should be sticking to salads and starchy vegetables like sweet potatoes and carrots, if possible. On the day before cleansing try to eat mostly soups and steamed and raw veggies in the form of salads. You can use extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, herbs, spices, and lemon juice to add flavor to your meals. If you need extra protein, soaked walnuts or almonds are ok as long as you chew them well. Your goal is to eat as clean as you can. No one is keeping score- if you feel like you need some organic animal protein, just try to make sure it’s cooked fish or organic chicken or turkey. Feel free to use fluid milk alternatives such as almond, rice, and oat drinks. You can always contact us at info@pressedjuicery.com if you have any questions. Our knowledgeable team is here to help in any way we can.
during
The success of your cleanse is dependent on doing it right. This does not mean we want you to be totally rigid in your approach- we’re all human after all. But it is important to stress that while you are doing a great thing for yourself by drinking beverages in place of meals, it is essential for your system to be in the best shape possible in order to keep everything flowing.
Continue to hydrate by drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day.
Make sure you get ample rest - we suggest going to bed as early as possible and taking a short nap if your schedule permits. Keep your schedule as light as you can…most people find they get tired earlier than usual.
The third essential facet of detox is elimination. It’s almost backwards to do a cleanse if you are not moving the toxins that are being released out of your system. We recommend colonics or enemas as a gentle and safe way to flush out toxic waste. Sure, it sounds odd if you are living in a primitive society and your diet is made up of pure fruits and vegetables.
If you aren’t ready for a colonic just yet, you can use an herbal laxative (we like Traditional Medicinals Smooth Move® tea or capsules), to aid in the elimination process. We also provide a 16 fl oz bottle of aloe vera drink before bed which will keep things moving while you sleep.
There are also other great ways to eliminate toxins that do not have to do with the bowel or digestive system. These include opening up your pores and shedding dead skin cells using a skin brush each morning before you shower, finding a place to do an infrared sauna, and booking yourself a treatment like a massage or reflexology. Mentally, give yourself a break by taking a warm bath or meditating - but don't strain yourself! You should tone down your usual exercise regimen and keep cardio to a minimum, but definitely take 1-2 light walks each day to accelerate your lymphatic and circulatory systems. You should always shower to get rid of any perspiration as soon as you can, so those toxins are completely released from your body.
FEELING UNCOMFORTABLE? DON’T SWEAT IT.
It is important to remember is that while your digestive system is getting a lighter load, your body is adjusting to the clean nutrients you are putting in. Enjoy a non‐caffeine herbal tea that can help naturally.
Additionally, take a probiotic every day to keep your intestines balanced and to help replenish the good bacteria that your body needs.
If you’re feeling extra low, add a pinch of celtic sea salt to your beverage or tea. We recommend eliminating all solid foods, but you can cheat the healthy way by having a few slices of cucumber apple if you are feeling desperate. If you need something warm or savory to add at dinnertime, you can boil some carrots or broccoli with herbs and drain the water into a bowl. This vegetable broth is perfectly suitable as an addition to your cleanse.
after
So, now that you’ve done all this amazing work on revamping your system, we want to make sure you’re armed with a maintenance kit that will help keep you on track and maximize the effects of your cleanse.
We’re sure you can feel the difference in your energy, skin, and digestive system alone, and the more you are able to keep your system together, the better off you will be. Unfortunately, it won’t help you to reward yourself by splurging on a big dinner right away.
We recommend that you break your cleanse by consuming three small meals the following day, consisting of 2 solid meals and one liquid meal for the first day. Below are some options of foods to eat for the first 3 days post-cleanse.
-
Day 1:
Breakfast: Fresh fruit or raw veggie salad
Lunch: Fruit/Vegetable smoothie
Dinner: Steamed vegetables, raw vegetable salad (dressing: flax oil or olive oil with lemon) -
Day 2:
Breakfast: Fruit salad, smoothie or vegetable juice
Lunch: Raw salad, one type of steamed vegetable. You may add goat cheese if you like.
Dinner: Raw salad, steamed vegetables, small amount of starch such as whole grains (brown rice or quinoa) or sweet potato, legumes.
-
Day 3:
Stick to anything listed above, plus the pre-cleanse diet while avoiding the same list of foods such as meat, poultry, refined carbohydrates, and processed foods.
After day 3, you can slowly reintroduce meat and dairy products if you so wish. We recommend steamed fish in place of beef, pork, and chicken, and goat’s milk products in place of cow’s milk, at least in the beginning.
And remember- digestion begins with the simple act of chewing. Chewing initiates the release of digestive enzymes that break down food and makes oils, proteins and minerals available for maximum nutrient absorption.
